(What`s Metal mold?)
There are many products using the press-type metal mold. For example, It`s a part of car and cell-phone, tableware. All Metal mold have convex and concave. And product is made by pouring resin into mold. Therefore we must reverse design. When we carve it, we use a chisel and the hammer. The carved seal is the same, too.
The material of the mold is iron. All chisel is quenching and harden.
When we carve a design to mold, make and change the point of the chisel into match the angle.
金型を使った製品は、世の中に数多くあります。車や携帯の部品、食器などです。金型には凸型と凹型があり、製品は型に樹脂を流し込み作られています。したがって、デザインを反転しなければなりません。
金型への彫刻が手彫りの場合は、鏨と金槌を使います。
素材は鉄のため、鏨は焼きを入れ硬くします。彫るデザインや、金型の角度に合わせて鏨の刃先を変えます。
(Long time ago, when there was still no carving machines available, metal mold was hand-made produced.)
In about 1926, Yoshinobu Nakamura was apprenticed to learn metal carve in Hachikenya of Oosaka. And he was carving design and letter to mold.
Main work of Yoshinobu included the sticker of the company and commemorative medal and the postmark of the post office.
昔は手彫が主流だった金型彫刻
1代目中村良信は、１９２6年大阪の八軒屋町へ金属彫刻を学びに弟子入りしました。その頃は彫刻機はなく、すべて鏨を使った手彫りで金型彫刻を行っていました。
戦前の主な仕事として、企業のシール、記念メダルや郵便局の消印などがありました。
写真で紹介しているものはすべて、金型に手彫りで肉彫したものです。
シールはデパートの包み紙に貼るシールからグリコのシール、薬の箱などがあり、戦前からの日本の時代の流れを感じることができます。

It takes many time to make, and needs strength of hand.
これは樹脂製品です。網代模様は１つ１つ手彫りです。金型の手彫りは素材が鉄のため、時間と手の力が必要になります
